STAR is our prison training program that not only saves lives, but also changes them.
Every 10 weeks, 8 shelter/rescue dogs will be chosen (based on certain criteria) to enter the program at Dick Connor correctional center in Hominy, OK.
We have a trainer that travels to the prison once a week to work with the inmates, that will be training the dogs.
Upon graduation of the 10 week training session, each dog will be well trained in basic commands.
Initial cost of the program, is around $200.00 per dog (vetting, food and preventatives). Monthly cost for each dog in the program is approximately $60 (food and preventives).
